FAC Technologies · Windows backup and storage review

A local-first Windows desktop app that backs up phones, drives and folders to a disk you choose, proves every copy, survives crashes and unplugged cables, and then helps you review what is taking up space.

How it works

  • Sources include iPhone and iPad camera rolls, Android phones, internal and external drives, USB drives, SD cards and folders.
  • Every copy is checked with SHA-256. A copy that does not match is discarded and retried.
  • Interrupted jobs resume, and identical files are never copied twice.
  • Review suggestions cover exact duplicates, similar photos, screenshots and large files - each with its reason.

Where it stands

  • In development for Windows 10 and 11 on .NET with a WPF interface.
  • Not yet available to download. Downloads will follow a public beta.
  • Everything runs on your own computer, and files are not sent anywhere.

What we will not do

  • Nothing is ever deleted automatically or silently.
  • Deletion is offered only for files with a verified, unchanged backup, and needs two confirmations.
  • We do not claim space savings we have not measured on your own device.
  • iPhones share only their camera roll with Windows, so we will not claim access to more.
